Mount Singai (1843 ft or 562 m) is located between Bau and Matang area. The locals usually visit this place on weekends to climb the long fleet of stairs till the top. It was very tiring on the first time I climbed. Took me about an hour to reach the the village area. On 2nd try, it took me about 40 minutes and I didn’t feel as exhausted as the first time.
Hiking boots is not necessary to reach the village area, just a casual trekking boots will do. All the way till the top, you will find wooden stairs though some are beginning to wear out due to the weather. That you need to be aware for your own safety. During Sunday, you might need to keep quiet as there are prayer session going on.
